The PICMA Tack Tester P-3 is a desktop-type instrument designed to measure the tackiness of unvulcanized rubber and other adhesive materials. It can be used for tests between two unvulcanized rubber samples, or between unvulcanized rubber and other materials.
It is suitable for R&D testing purposes and allows a wide range of test conditions to be set
The specimen is set on the specimen mounting wheel and held in position by the lever arm. During the test, the specimen mounting wheel is lowered at a constant speed by the motorized system. The indenter presses the sample and, once the preset pressing time has elapsed, the specimen mounting wheel is raised automatically.
The P-3 model uses a digital load cell. An optional high-precision load cell is also available, allowing tackiness to be measured at a higher resolution.
The instrument allows the pressing time, lowering speed and separating speed to be selected. Options are also available for measuring the temperature near the specimen surface and for sending the readings to an optional printer.
