The Heel impact tester is a machine used to verify the impact resistance of women’s shoe heels. This test helps evaluate how likely a heel is to break if it experiences strong or accidental impacts during daily use.
How it Works:
The heel is secured in the machine with the toe of the shoe facing upwards and the heel in a vertical position.
A pendulum repeatedly strikes the heel.
The impact energy gradually increasing with each blow.
The test continues until the heel fails or breaks.
Why it’s useful:
This test is suitable for all types of high heels, regardless of their material or construction.
It’s particularly useful for injection-molded plastic heels, which often contain an internal steel reinforcement known as a “dowel.”
The test helps determine if the dowel’s material has the correct hardness to withstand impacts.
