Teraohmeter

The HM 307 DE Teraohmmeter is an advanced instrument used for the precise determination of the surface and volume electrical resistance of dielectric plastic materials under defined voltages. It’s an essential device for ensuring material compliance with international reference standards, including ISO 284 (for electrical conductivity of conveyor belts), ASTM D257 (standard test methods for insulation resistance of insulating materials), ASTM D1169 (standard test method for specific resistance of electrical insulating liquids), and other equivalent standards.

Available Measuring Electrodes

Various measuring electrodes are available to suit different applications. The following electrode is specifically mentioned:

  • High Ohm Measurement Electrode HOW 1:
    • Specifically developed for rapid, manual measurement of the surface resistance of objects.
    • Equipped with 2 conductive elastomer strips.
    • Optimized for quick measurement of object surfaces, flat specimens (e.g., painted sample plates, pads, or plastic films).
    • Allows rapid measurement without the use of conductive silver lacquer, avoiding surface treatment of the sample.
    • Suitable for resistance values greater than 1,000 Ohm with a 1 Volt test voltage.
    • Measuring length: 100 mm.
    • Measuring distance: 10 mm.
    • Optional guard ring: For protection against surface offset currents (leakage).
    • Connection: Can be connected to Milli-TO 3 and TO 3 measuring devices.
    • Recommended Measurement Range:
      • At 100 V test voltage: to .
      • At 1 V test voltage: to .
    • Optional Accessories:
      • Base plate GP 14
      • Base plate GP 15
      • Base plate GP 25
      • Guard ring
      • High resistance measurement cable set

The HOW 1 electrode is particularly easy to handle and allows for optimal contact with surfaces, regardless of the test position, ensuring accurate measurements in the high resistance range when combined with Milli-TO 3 or TO 3 devices.

The following electrodes are also mentioned:

HOW 3:

The HOW 3 manual electrode was specifically developed for measuring the resistance of object surfaces.

HOW 16:

The HOW 16 model is an electrode arrangement designed to measure surface layer resistance in accordance with EN, DIN, and IEC standards. It features 65 gold-plated precision spring contacts, allowing for good contact even on shaped surfaces.

FE 50:

The FE 50 guard ring electrode is suitable for various volume and surface resistance measurements.
