Large-scale cast film lines are equipped with chill rolls that reach diameters of up to 250 mm and utilize a heavy-duty hydraulic system. This system allows both the lower and upper rolls to be pressed against the central one.
Various roll widths are available, up to 1200 mm, and each roll can be individually temperature-controlled with water or heated with oil. A motorized mechanism enables the entire roll group to be tilted to any position, from horizontal, to vertical, or at a 45-degree angle.
The chill roll drive technology is based on individual servomotors for each roll.
