Xenon Chamber BGD 862

Many polymer materials are often be damage by natural environmental factors which from Earth’s surface and atmosphere when used outdoor. This affects their useful life.

Thermostatic chambers are used to simulate environmental conditions and to accelerate aging process of some properties of materials. Within days or weeks you can play the damages that occur in months and years of outdoor exposure.

Xenon lamp can simulate the distribution of complete solar spectrum and thus can provide a more accurate simulation, especially if you are running tests on the color change and photostability.

Features

Long Life Optical Filters

Appropriate spectrum for a particular application is achieved through a suitable filtration of the sunlight. Three categories of filters are available for the reproduction of existing working conditions:

Daylight filters

Used to simulate solar light with high degree of correlation to natural exposure. They are used to test materials exposed outdoors.

Filters Window Glass

Used to reproduce the effects of radiated light through a window. These can also be used to simulate aggressive indoor lights.

Extended UV filters

These filters allow the passage of more UV below the normal cut-on of natural sunlight (UV-C and UV-B) to reproduce particular conditions (automotive, aerospace, etc.)

BGD 862

BGD 862 is a big Xenon chamber characterized by large dimensions, high lamp power and large surface area of radiation exposure.

Technical features

  • Xenon lamp and optional filters are conform to international standards and ensure reproducibility and comparability of test results
  • Test chamber equipped with ATLAS water cooled lamp
  •  Large rotating sample holder to maximize uniformity of the specimens exposure
  • Total exposure area equal to 6500 cm2 able to accommodate specimens of different sizes and shapes
  • Water cooling lamp system
  • High accuracy irradiation energy. The “solar eye control system” automatically compensates intensity change of light caused by aging and other factors
  • Black-temperature standard (BST) and Black-panel temperature (BPT) are automatically controlled during the whole duration of the test with a Pt100
  • Setting system and humidity control ultrasonic waves for improved uniformity of moisture distribution
  • Possibility to set front spray / back spray mode, spray time and action range
  • Touch screen to setting test parameters and process monitoring
  • Programmable test procedures by the operator.
  • Possibility to save up to 6 different procedures. Each procedure can include up to 10 different steps
  • Irradiation and black panel calibration executable directly by the operator
  • Ability to export test parameters and results through USB port
  • Protection system of integrity alarms of the operable machine for large irradiation differences, high conductivity of the water, cooling water temperature too high, insufficient flow of cooling water and overheating problems
  • Network opportunity and remote control of the machine
