Glow Wire apparatus is designed to simulate real work conditions when hot parts come in contact with materials that may burst to fire.
The specimen, with dimensions according to standard requirements, is assembled onto a moveable carriage in a vertical position. A resistor with a pre-determined adjustable temperature and accurate control is positioneds in a horizontal moveable support. A calibrated thermocouple verifies the temperature, indicated on a digital display, of the resistor.The resistor can apply a contact force on the tested specimen between 0,8 and 1,2 N.The test procedure includes some cycles with test times that the operator should follow in accordance with the standard specifications.
